Research, Development, and Engineering Services:
Adventium Labs' staff consists of world class researchers and practitioners with broad experience that have solved many difficult research challenges for the U. S. Government and commercial firms. Our people and their areas of expertise can be found on our About page.

Institutional Review Board (IRB):
Adventium Labs provides IRB services for research studies related to Adventium’s research interests. The IRB was formed in 2005 and registered with the Department of Health and Human Services. Beyond basic IRB services, Adventium Labs provides a consultant scientist (who is not a member of the IRB) to work closely with the client’s research team to define and document the research plan. This service, part of our flat IRB fee structure, ensures that research goals and human subject issues are adequately balanced and that the application to the IRB is correctly and completely filled out. The IRB makes the final decision on whether to approve or disapprove the application. IRB services can be scheduled to meet client’s time and other program constraints.

Electronic Neighbor:
This system extends a resident’s ability to live independently by detecting accidents, changes in activities of daily living, and other difficulties via passive monitoring. Phase I STTR research confirmed the feasibility of the system. The Phase II effort focused on the design and development of a low-cost, non-intrusive home monitoring system that can provide actionable information on the welfare of a home's occupant. This was developed jointly by Healthsense which now sells products, under the eNeighbor® name, based on this research. The issued patents below are available for non-exclusive licensing.

NetBase Ontology (NetBase):
NetBase is an extensive ontology for use in automated reasoning and other advanced software research and applications. The ontology includes descriptions and relationships between machines, applications, and users. It represents a system from an abstract machine level down to specific services (e.g., HTTP and TCP) available on machines, and specific user access rights to those services. This ontology is available as Government Off-The-Shelf for modeling cyber networks for use on US Government funded programs. Extensions based on the Visual Object Taxonomy from the University of South Florida to accommodate reasoning about physical and social interactions are also available.
